About

New York Shorts International Film Festival is a non-profit festival and one of the largest exhibitors of short-form cinema in North America: the largest short film festival on the East Coast, and a qualifying festival for the Canadian Screen Awards. Its programs focus on social issues, from women's rights and the immigrant experience to racial justice, the environment and human rights. Past selections include Oscar nominees Anuja and The Red Suitcase and Oscar winners The Queen of Basketball and The Neighbors' Window. The 2026 festival runs seven days at Cinema Village in Greenwich Village, with films from the US, Canada, the UK, Brazil, France, Japan, Korea, China, the Philippines and more.
